A beautiful connection

Collaborating with Amsterdam's renowned Random Studio on their gorgeous brand new interactive space Random Studio, already-seasoned experts in interactive space, have finally finished building out their stunning brand new studio, and they invited me to work with them to complete the rollout of their technical infrastructure. By delivering a new, centralized system and connecting their infrastructure with it, they can now take ownership of their interactive space and ensure its continued success and growth within the studio. One of my main goals was to deliver a centralized management system which allowed Random Studio to take control of their new interactive space. By integrating multiple systems, they can now take control of- and further develop and grow their space as they continue to explore the incredible potential of connected spaces. Having already worked with Random before the build to define their original technical infrastructure (featuring an expansive KNX infrastructure), I expanded upon this by building a core space management system, also integrating alternative sensor-based systems - allowing for the addition and connection of new sensors and outputs to create a more dynamic and responsive space. The implementation included, amongst other things: Presence-aware rooms and zones, with automatic adaptation of lights and sound Light, temperature and co2-aware areas, with automatic adaption by means of lights, skylights and air-flow systems Automated and manually triggered events, scenes and scenographies throughout the studio Automated shutdown of certain computers and network devices when the studio is shut down for the day Adaptive lighting that follows or counters current daylight Connection to their custom artistic and alternative functional lighting systems Integration with their various sound systems, including 4D sound, Sonos and other network-based audio outputs Dashboards and insights into live and historical energy consumption and atmospheric levels throughout the studio
