Teaching it forward

Working with the next generation of digital innovators
Given our rapidly evolving digital landscape, I believe it is crucial for children and students to be well-versed in technology and its potential, for both good and bad. My goal is to enable people form a healthier connection with technology while also teaching them about its negative potential, through teaching and collaboratively crafting tools and experiences. As a guest lecturer, I've given lectures to students at the HVA (Immersive Environments) on connected spaces and related technologies. As a private tutor, I have worked with children who have an interest in virtual environments, programming, technology, smart homes and the Internet of Things; developing personalized syllabuses tailored to individual interests, aptitude and learning style. If you're a teacher, lecturer or with young adults or children that are interested in learning more about programming and interactive technology, get in touch to discuss costs and availability. Although I primarily work in English, I can offer private tutoring in Dutch - a hybrid approach of mixed English and Dutch is likely to work best in this case Lights & Sound Experimenting with various lighting and sound technologies and their applications in connected spaces Sensors Discovering the role of sensors in connecting real-world interactions with digital services Basic robotics Getting hands-on experience building simple robots through mechanics and basic control systems Programming Learning the fundamentals of coding through the creation of their own interactive objects and spaces Internet of Things (IoT) Exploring connected devices and spaces that respond to human interaction Electronics Understanding the basics of circuit design, components and microcontrollers 3D modeling and printing Getting to grips with 3D modeling software and learning how to design and 3D print real world objects
